A token of our admiration to celebrate International Nurses Day

Nurses at Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre have received a thank you card and a special token to celebrate International Nurses Day.

Each year, around the world, International Nurses Day is celebrated on this date, the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth, to highlight the enormous contribution made by nurses to the health and wellbeing of patients everywhere.

Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre will mark this year’s celebrations by giving team nurses, healthcare assistants and allied healthcare colleagues a thank you card containing a message of thanks for their caring and professionalism. The card will also contain a special shopping trolley token.

Liz Jones, Head of Nursing and Clinical Services, said: “Our colleagues are deeply committed to delivering first class care to patients. We know by the feedback we receive from patients and their relatives that our team works towards and succeeds in combining skill, compassion and humour and our patients tell us they find that the best possible tonic. We chose the trolley token because it is not only very useful but each time our colleagues go shopping they will be reminded of just how valued they are by us and the NHS patients we support.”
